Payroll Manager Our client, located in in Waterbury , is a large non-profit - very well-known in Connecticut. They've partnered with CFS to identify a seasoned Payroll Manager to join their team on an open-ended basis, due to there being a vacancy in the department. Reporting directly to the Chief HR Officer, the Payroll Manager will be the primary point of contact for all payroll related inquiries. The ideal candidate will be self-directed, confident, and motivated. Must have solid payroll management experience! Responsibilities: The Payroll Manager will serve as the centralized point of contact for all payroll-related inquiries and serve as a resource for payroll processing, and is responsible for all payroll input, output, reconciliation and distribution the organization's bi-weekly and monthly pay cycles. In addition, the Payroll Manager will coordinate and corresponds with site administrators and bookkeepers, overseeing Schools payroll, and works closely with the Benefits Specialist on processing of timely uploads to the pension plan and accurate payroll deductions. Responsible for maintaining and handling all transactions essential to the accurate and timely processing for the 14 bi-weekly payrolls and 1 monthly payroll. Work with payroll vendor on enhancements to the payroll processing as needed and/or requested and stay current on payroll system to achieve alignment with HR benefits and to ensure effective accounting support. Responsible for all garnishment calculations and set-ups, audit of garnishments checks generated by payroll provider for accurate payment to agencies, and notification to affected employee. Calculate and process manual checks and voids as requested in a timely manner. Ensure compliance with and maintain current knowledge of all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws, research laws as questions/issues arise, and respond timely to all correspondence from federal, state and unemployment agencies. Requirements: BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is ideal, but not required Solid experience in payroll processing/management (CPP and/or member of American Payroll Assc. a plus!) Thorough knowledge of payroll and accounting principles/procedures Experience with Paychex or ADP Excellent interpersonal/communication skills
