the Role Our client is seeking a Senior Credit Analyst to join its
growing credit and risk team. This role sits at the center of the
lending decision process, responsible for evaluating financing
opportunities, structuring transactions, and ensuring sound credit
decisions across a portfolio of small and mid-sized business
borrowers. The Senior Credit Analyst will partner closely with
underwriting and risk leadership to assess borrower financial
health, recommend loan terms, and help maintain a high-quality loan
portfolio while supporting continued business growth. This role
offers meaningful exposure to credit decision-making, deal
structuring, and portfolio risk management in a fast-paced lending
environment. The ideal candidate is a highly analytical
professional who enjoys digging into financials, evaluating risk,
and playing a direct role in approving and structuring financing
transactions. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive credit
reviews including borrower credit reports, background checks, and
public record searches such as liens, judgments, bankruptcies,
lawsuits, corporate filings, and UCC records. Analyze borrower
financial performance through detailed review of bank statements,
balance sheets, profit and loss statements, tax returns, and
accounts receivable reports. Conduct cash flow analysis to evaluate
repayment capacity and determine overall borrower creditworthiness.
Recommend loan approvals, credit limits, and deal structures based
on financial analysis and internal credit policies. Assist in
determining loan pricing and repayment structures, including
weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly payment schedules. Prepare thorough
credit memoranda summarizing borrower financial profiles, risk
considerations, and underwriting recommendations. Collaborate with
underwriting and risk leadership to review complex transactions and
ensure alignment with credit guidelines. Monitor borrower
industries and market trends to identify emerging risks and lending
opportunities. Contribute to the ongoing development and refinement
of credit policies, risk frameworks, and lending products. Help
maintain a disciplined underwriting process that balances portfolio
growth with strong risk management. Qualifications Strong financial
analysis and credit evaluation skills with the ability to assess
borrower risk and repayment capacity. Excellent attention to detail
with the ability to interpret financial statements and identify key
risk factors. Strong written and verbal communication skills,
particularly in preparing credit memos and presenting
recommendations. Ability to manage multiple transactions
simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Sound judgment and
decision-making ability when evaluating complex credit scenarios.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work closely with
underwriting, risk, and leadership teams. Advanced proficiency in
Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools. Experience with CRM
platforms such as Salesforce or similar systems is preferred.
Preferred Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Finance,
Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
2 years of professional experience in credit analysis,
underwriting, or commercial lending. Experience evaluating small
business financing, short-duration loans, or alternative lending
products is strongly preferred. Experience in fintech, specialty
finance, or non-bank lending environments is a plus. $100,000 -
$150,000 a year Compensation $100,000 - $150,000 a year Salary:
$100,000–$150,000, commensurate with experience. Benefits include:
