Job Description:

Responsible for providing design efforts from inception through production on both new and existing products. Provides engineering solutions and design changes throughout the product line(s). Applies expertise, initiative, and available resources to ensure that product designs are proper for the application, well-conceived, adequately documented and sufficiently tested to provide consistent, quality products to our customers.What you will do:* Use CAD (SolidWorks) to create and/or modify designs (new and existing) with Lean Manufacturing Principles, Continuous Improvement, design for manufacturability, and customer satisfaction aspects aligned.* Employ design analysis methods such as failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), design for manufacturability and assembly (DFMA), stress, fatigue, and heat transfer analysis to optimize designs and to ensure product integrity.* Test and verify specified product characteristics are met within design.* Select proper materials for use and/or improvement of designs.* Prepare technical documents of product specifications, bill of material, etc.* Lead and participate in design and process reviews as required, including coordinating with internal departments (ex. Marketing, sales, supply chain, quality, etc.).* Work with production personnel to dissect and solve design issues as well as implement cost reduction ideas.* Provide product, process and application engineering analysis and support to customers and manufacturing plants.* Analyze, recommend, and apply new engineering technologies and software for design; initiate and provide design support to other groups within engineering; review and validate the impact of suggested modifications to products; process engineering changes and deviations as required.* Evaluate and recommend component parts, materials and processes as related to improved product performance, quality and profitability.* Coordinate new designs and product engineering efforts with drafting, marketing, field sales, manufacturing engineering and general management.* Provide customer or in-house technical training in areas of technical specialization.What we are looking for:* Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial.* 3-5 years of relevant experience* Proficiency in CAD required, SolidWorks preferred* Strong ability to organize, retain, and manage multiple tasks on a regular basis.* Strong problem solving/analysis skills required* Working knowledge of Lean Methodology and a commitment to Continuous Improvement a plus* Excellent communication and collaboration skills required* Drive for results* Ability to travel domestically and internationally.#LI-JT1CompensationSalary Minimum: MarketSalary Maximum: MarketIncentive:Disclaimer: Where a specific pay range is noted, it is a good faith estimate at the time of this posting.
