Job Description:

Salary range: $90,000 to $125,000 per year The City of Waterbury is seeking to fill the position of Director of Finance Applicants should have thorough knowledge of modern principles and practices of business administration; thorough knowledge of principles and practices of accounting, budgeting, finance, taxation and assessment and investing; knowledge of purchasing procedures; knowledge of automated data processing and financial management systems; considerable ability to recognize weaknesses in City financial systems and to effect improvements for increased efficiency and productivity; considerable ability to analyze complex financial data and apply such information to municipal financial problems; considerable ability in the preparation of financial reports; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other City employees and officials and the general public; considerable ability to read and interpret laws and regulations; ability to plan and supervise the work of others on a large scale; ability to prepare statistical and narrative reports; excellent oral and written communication skills.
