Haven and Waterbury
The State of Connecticut Judicial Branch is seeking a Clinical
Coordinator to independently provide the full range of advanced
clinical support services relative to delinquency and Family with
Service Needs cases. The Clinical Coordinator will:
Assess cases for appropriateness for evaluation and/or referral for
treatment, including but not limited to psychiatric, psychological,
sex offender, substance abuse, and multidisciplinary evaluations,
and psychiatric hospitalization;
Conduct assessments as directed by the court providing clinical
diagnoses and treatment recommendations and/or plans;
Provide routine and crisis consultation to court personnel;
Conduct conferences with parents, probation officers, attorneys,
and the Department of Children and Families;
Utilize mediation and negotiation skills to facilitate agreement on
necessary evaluations and the forensic questions to be
answered;
Develop agreements between the parties which provide for the best
interests of the child and are judicially acceptable;
Confer with the presiding judge to discuss case status, mental
health issues and court policies and procedures regarding mental
health assessments;
Provide guidance, technical assistance and training for involved
parties on mental health issues, assessments, treatments,
evaluation procedures, and other social issues related to juvenile
delinquency and status offending;
When appropriate, assist with quality assurance for contracted
evaluators, and review evaluations for completeness and
accuracy;
Collect and review collateral information pertaining to the child
and family;
Contact parents/guardians regarding scheduled appointments and
transportation needs;
Manage third party reimbursement;
Attend court hearings as required and prepare and present oral and
written evaluations when ordered;
Prepare statistical and administrative reports and correspondence
related to court operations;
Develop, maintain and utilize relationships with community agencies
to make appropriate evaluation and treatment referrals for services
and to obtain necessary information;
May assist in training new Clinical Coordinators;
May supervise volunteers or interns in the performance of
assessments and case monitoring duties;
Serve as liaison to public and private agencies;
May assist supervisor with a variety of special projects with
statewide impact including research projects and data
collection;
Participate on a variety of committees;
Perform related duties as required.
Salary Range: $89,039 - $112,188/year – plus State of Connecticut
benefits.
New employees begin at the minimum. The starting salary for
existing state employees may be higher than the minimum, in
accordance with existing Judicial Branch policy.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
General Experience: Licensed or license eligible in Connecticut as
a physician, psychologist, social worker, psychiatric nurse
practitioner, professional counselor or equivalent and three years
of professional experience in child/adolescent mental health or
forensic mental health.
Special Requirement: Incumbents are required to have a valid
Connecticut motor vehicle operator's license and a motor vehicle
available for daily use.
Working Conditions: Incumbents may be exposed to some risk of
injury from assaultive/abusive clients; may be exposed to
disagreeable conditions when interviewing detained clients.
