and Community Ties program offers intensive therapeutic
intervention and support to trained foster families who provide
stable and loving homes to children and adolescents with serious
behavioral health concerns and who have experienced significant
trauma. We are looking for an experienced therapist to provide
individualized, intensive therapeutic services to children and
their foster families utilizing evidence based treatments and other
empirically supported interventions matched to the unique treatment
needs of each child and family. If you have high energy, work from

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Master's or doctoral degree in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage
and Family Therapy, or Counseling plus at least 2 years of
experience working with behavioral health service delivery to
children, adolescents with serious behavioral health concerns and
their families are required. Experience working with the foster
care population is preferred.
Licensure Requirements for Clinical Positions
Credential(s) Required: Connecticut license (LCSW, LPC, LMFT,
Office Location is in Plainville, CT. Position requires travel to
the Greater Hartford and Waterbury areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducts program specific screening and evaluation, and formulates
diagnosis in accordance with the Diagnostic Statistical Manual
(DSM). Develops and documents, clear clinical formulations and
comprehensive treatment/service plans that are multidimensional,
individualized, measurable, and developed in collaboration with the
client, family, and other collaterals involved with the child.
Demonstrates knowledge of psychopathology and other behavioral
health concerns and primary modalities of psychotherapeutic
intervention. Triages clinical emergencies and implements program
specific safety and consultation protocols. Utilizes best practices
and evidenced based practice models where appropriate and adheres
to model and program expectations.
Is actively involved in the matching process, meeting with the
youth to determine placement needs and preferences and to identify
child-specific training needs for the foster family.
Assists in development and delivery of post-licensure training for
foster families, and works with families in developing child
specific training plans for foster parents, to assist them in
developing the skills that will help support youth in achieving
goals on their service plans.
Communicates in a positive, effective manner with children, foster
families, biological families, and all internal and external
providers involved as required.
Attends all necessary internal and external meetings with foster
care staff, providers, foster and biological parents, and children
associated with the foster care program.
Works with team to ensure appropriate care management services to
help foster children stabilize in placement and improve overall
Provides support/direction to foster families to assist them in
caring for the children placed in their homes.
Monitors foster parent compliance with program expectations/policy
and assists families in meeting these requirements.
Works with biological families, where appropriate, to help them to
support the child while in foster placement and/or to prepare for
their return home.
Meets direct service productivity goals as defined by the program.
Demonstrates knowledge of program/department/agency goals and
target outcomes, and adheres to practice standards and to data
collection and reporting protocols.
Attends and is prepared for scheduled supervision. Seeks additional
supervision or consultation as needed and follows through with
Documents all client related information in compliance with agency
policy and DCF contractual standards for child and/or families
within the foster care program.
Provides service in the office and/or community settings outside
the office (e.g., homes, schools, hospitals, institutions, other
community locations) as defined by the program.
Provides after hours on call response to foster children and their
families on a rotating basis with other foster care program
Promotes and supports the foster care program within the community,
and assists with recruitment and training as needed.
Continues to develop knowledge and understanding about the history,
traditions, values, family systems, and artistic expression of
groups served as well as uses appropriate methodological
approaches, skills, and techniques that reflect an understanding of
