Job Description Summary of Position Develop and maintain automation and fixture platforms for efficient continuous production. Engineering and maintenance of plant electrical systems, power distribution, machine drives & controls information systems infrastructure.

Accountabilities

Provide leadership, expertise, training and technical support to production. Research, design, and develop electrical control and power systems equipment to assist and/or improve operations. Identify and justify capital and major maintenance needs and develop plans to fulfill needs. Commission and test new and refurbished equipment and modify/update existing equipment Install heavy equipment, facilities, and shop floor power distribution systems. Write and maintain user guides and other documentation for equipment. Maintain and enhance plant electrical/electronic schematics and literature. Analyze recurring equipment problems, recommend and implement long-term solutions to increase plant productivity and conduct fault diagnostics and maintenance of electronic and electromechanical equipment and systems. Manage external contractors Automate and analyze equipment processes Communicate effectively to all plant personnel and outside contractors

Minimum Qualifications: Education/Experience: BS in Electrical Engineering or similarly related discipline. Five years experience working in manufacturing environment preferably in a setting where older equipment has been upgraded and automated for better processes. Proficient in with MS Office, Access, Projects and AutoCAD. Good understanding of: PLCs and Drives Data collection systems Temperature controllers Measurement devices Computer networks pH systems Automated data analysis and robotics Bar code readers Company Description Luvata in Waterbury, Connecticut manufactures copper stabilized NbTi and Nb3Sn conductors for a variety of superconducting applications.
