Job Description:

SCOPE OF POSITION: The ASC Coordinator ensures practice success within the surgery center. The ASC Coordinator is required to provide strategic and operational planning input for the center.# They assure that all regulatory obligations are met and practiced. They serve as the liaison between all parties. # RESPONSIBILITIES: Promotes financial viability of surgery and monitors financial performance related to pricing strategies, revenues, expenditures and resource management. Constantly monitors surgery center operating statistics to isolate trends and dramatic changes in performance to ensure the surgery center is maintaining its place and competitive edge in the community and the surrounding areas. Evaluates block scheduling to ensure efficiency and maximum utilization. Develop, implement, and evaluate services to establish systems that ensure efficient and cost effective utilization of space, materials, and personnel. Develops and recommends strategic and operational plans and operating Policies. Prepares and maintains a current Policy and Procedures Manual. In the implementation of operational strategies, utilizes the surgery center in a cost effective and patient oriented manner. Maintains compliance with the organization#s confidentiality policy in accordance with #the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Ensures that all laws and regulations pertaining to ASC and surgery center protocol are maintained, including safety, infection control and risk management. Maintains and ensures that all documents required in the credentialing/re-credentialing process are current and renewed as appropriate. Establishes and implements a protocol for ordering supplies, equipment, medications, etc. Demonstrates continuous awareness of material management needs, interacting with vendors and outsourced services as needed in a timely and professional manner. All other duties as assigned. ############################################### REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor or Master#s in Nursing Two-Five years of ASC experience RN license required BLS required CNOR certification preferred Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut. Communicate in a clear, concise, and logical manner in oral and written presentations. Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills. Ability to form positive, collaborative relationships with hospital staff, patients and families. Ability to effectively negotiate with internal and external providers of patient care services. Analytical abilities to assist in obtaining solutions to problems.# Able to work independently and prioritize work. Able to manage multiple priorities.# Basic knowledge of computers and clinical applications.   • Two-Five years of ASC experience
  • RN license required
