Inpatient and/or Outpatient Coding Manager, the HIM Coding Team
Lead is primarily responsible for supporting Inpatient and/or
Outpatient coding team operations for Trinity Health-New England.
The individual will work with the HIM Coding leadership team to
support the organizational goals and objectives and to participate
in the establishment and attainment of Departmental and Regional

- Full time 40hrs M-F dayshiftYou Will Be Responsible For:
- Exceptional Patient Care: Ensure the quality and integrity of
inpatient, outpatient, and observation coding which includes
accurate assignment of (principal/first listed) diagnosis code,
secondary diagnoses, ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, CPT-4 and HCPCS code
assignment
- Excellent Communicator: Assists management in determining
staffing needs, work methods and performance standards and complies
with department policies in authorizing changes in assigned
employees work schedules.
- Strong Educator: Assist with supervision of coding staff of the
Health Information Management Department to ensure the department
standards quality and integrity of all inpatient and/or outpatient
coding are being met consistently.
- Technical Familiarity: Assist the HIM Coding Manager on the
completion of administrative/operational tasks to maintain
acceptable accounts receivable (AR) and DNFB (discharged not final
billed) days based on predetermined HIM indicators. Participates in
coding quality review functions utilizing established monitoring
procedures.
- Active Teamwork: Act as a resource to coding team members
regarding coding questions and issues.Requirements:
- Minimum High School diploma or equivalent, Associate's degree
or better in Health Information Management strongly preferred.
- Three years related supervisor experience or five years
outpatient and/or inpatient coding experience.
- CCS (Inpatient) or CPC (Outpatient) credential required. RHIA
or RHIT preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT coding
conventions.
- Knowledge of federal, state and payer specific regulations and
policies pertaining to documentation and billing.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal
