Description: The Secondary Department Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the department, ensuring efficient production while maintaining high-quality standards. This role requires a hands-on technical lead who can manage a small team of operators, troubleshoot machinery issues, and maintain production schedules. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of grinding processes and equipment, as well as the ability to provide guidance, training, and leadership to their team.Key Responsibilities:Lead and supervise a small crew in the department, ensuring work is completed on time and to quality standards.Set daily and weekly production schedules, prioritizing work based on production needs and deadlines.Operate and maintain various grinding machines, including and manual grinders.Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with grinding equipment to minimize downtime.Monitor and maintain inventory of grinding tools and materials, ensuring the department has the necessary supplies.Train and mentor team members, ensuring they adhere to safety protocols and best practices.Conduct regular quality checks to ensure products meet specifications and take corrective action when necessary.Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Maintenance, Quality Control, Engineering) to resolve production issues and improve workflow.Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality.Track production performance metrics and report to upper management.Requirements: Qualifications:Minimum of 3 years of experience in Centerless Grinding operations.Proven leadership experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.Strong technical skills with a deep understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot machinery and production issues.Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production tracking software is preferred.Knowledge of safety and quality standards in a manufacturing environment.Education and Certifications:High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or associate degree in a related field preferred.Relevant technical certifications in grinding or machining are a plus.Physical Requirements:Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs.Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varyingBenefits:Health InsuranceDental InsuranceVison Insurance Short term and long term disability Insurance401(k)401(k) matchingLife insuranceCompensation details: 25-28 Hourly WagePI71a822c6c562-25660-35625548
