Job Description:

SUMMARY and ROLE: The FTO will have significant additional responsibilities over and above their medical transportation duties any time while working, however especially when assigned to train a new field associate, or retrain/evaluate an existing field associate. The FTO will staff field units daily and may or may not be in an active training role at any time. The FTO is expected to be the eyes and ears for the company in the field and provide all levels of feedback to management. EXPECTATIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Must have a passion for training; 2. Apply coaching techniques by providing a role model to follow and giving encouragement and direction to the trainee to apply what has been taught; 3. Apply similar coaching techniques as seen ad-hoc in the field (not with a trainee in a training environment/role); 4. Conduct in-class training as requested; 5. Do not attempt to discipline any employee; rather use the company incident reporting system (eg ePRO) to report resistance and/or non-compliance to coaching of established policies, procedures, guidelines, safety issues, customer service, or any other concerns observed or perceived that may be adverse to the companys mission and vision. 6. Provide feedback to the trainee; 7. Document all training covered, including and check off lists; 8. Fully understand every line item on the new-hire field training check list; 9. Ensure the completed field training document is returned and announced to the appropriate department official; 10. Exemplary field performance; 11. Teach and reinforce department policies and procedures; 12. Develop and use skills to determine if learning is occurring and whether or not remedial training is necessary; 13. Keep all training progress confidential and not discuss with any other personnel, other than those who have a need and/or right to know; 14. All comments and documentation shall be based on direct observation and not speculation; 15. Proficiency with field electronic devices and company production applications including smart phones, tablets, mobile data terminals (MDT) and/or software, ePCR prcesses for ambulance and transport division (such as EMSCharts, SyncPad, Scribe); 16. Exemplify the departments vision and mission; 17. Recite the departments mission statement; 18. Name and describe the companys Core Traits of a Field Leader; 19. Recite the four pillars of the company and describe each; be able to explain them to any other employee; 20. Name all of the current Safety In Motion mantras, describe them all and promote them to all employees; be safety detectives and watch dogs at all times; 21. Understand how to read and explain driver behavior reports and metrics to any associate; understand the weights on the scorecard and what the event rate means; 22. Be active in the safety program by providing suggestions for improving any type of safety; 23. Remain in constant communication with the company electronic communications systems including, but not limited to e-mail and ePro messaging; 24. Company e-mail must be checked every shift, and all unread messages processed accordingly; 25. Perform other related duties as requested. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 1. Must have an exemplary employee record and be considered top Talent in accuracy, safety, and attendance; 2. Must be able to work all shifts, days, and times as reasonably needed to ensure all field associates can be seen by field leadership for initial training and chronic evaluation; 3. All FTOs must obtain Pediatric Day Care Clearance within 60 days; 4. Must have Logisticare clearance (or other brokers as applicable); 5. No physical or tangible barriers can exist to performing as a full field associate (except for health/medical reasons);no certifications may elapse; 6. Non-EMTs: a. must obtain CDL Class C Drivers license with P and S endorsements within 6 months b. Shall become a Safekids.org CPS car seat instructor and maintain certification; c. Shall become a MAVT instructor 7. EMTs: a. Must be certified as SCT-qualified by completing the companys SCT EMT program within 90 days; b. Must be 911 certified by obtaining applicable certifications within 90 days (including, but not limited to I-100, ICS700); c. Encouraged to obtain all certifications and licenses required for non-EMTs An AA/EEO Employer
