in NYC is seeking a creative, organized, and dynamic Temporary
Marketing Assistant or Marketing Associate to assist with middle
grade marketing campaigns on a variety of books, ranging from
non-fiction to literary and commercial fiction, as well as group
campaigns featuring frontlist and backlist titles for their
Children’s Books division. Duties include extensive copywriting,
content creation (graphics and video), data entry, and various
administrative tasks. This is a great opportunity to join an
enthusiastic, dedicated middle great team that works on a wide
range of books. Please note this is a 3 day a week HYBRID position
(ideally 7 hours/day Tues – Thurs ) . One onsite day in NYC office
required. Responsibilities: Write marketing copy, provide design
direction, and develop short- and long-form content for social
media (carousels, blogs, videos, etc.) in close coordination with
operations and digital teams. Brainstorm, develop, and execute
group/round-up campaigns based on themes, genres, and/or
seasonal/cultural/pop culture moments. Route materials to editorial
and operations teams. Assist with digital content organization
(such as downloading assets, uploading files, organizing folders,
etc.) Assist with team admin duties, such as grid creation and
management, data entry, sell sheet creation, note-taking, etc.
Assist as needed with in-office tasks, such as photoshoot
management, mailings, etc. Requirements: Minimum 1-3 years of
experience in trade book marketing and/or kids’ product marketing;
children’s book experience preferred (with some middle grade
experience a plus) Proficient in Microsoft Office, social media
platforms (i.e., Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.), and design
platforms (i.e., Canva or Photoshop) Excellent writing skills,
including ability to write in a voice appealing to parents and
tweens Experience working on compelling, of-the-moment campaigns to
reach a consumer audience Excellent project management,
communication, organizational, and prioritization skills a must
Experience working on mobile platforms a plus Appreciation and
knowledge of current trends in popular culture extremely
helpful
